“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” Colossians 3:16
We should worship God because He is good. If you worship the Lord only when you feel like it, then you are not going to worship very often. When you go to church and the worship team or choir break into song, do you ever think, I’m not really in a Worshiping mood today? You might say, “I haven’t had breakfast. I just can’t worship without some breakfast in my stomach.” Or, “I have a cold.” Or maybe it’s something worse than those things. Maybe a tragedy looms over your head. Whatever your situation, you should praise the Lord regardless of how you feel. The Bible does not say, “Give thanks unto the Lord when you feel good.” No, it says, “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever” (Ps. 106:1) Worship God because He is worthy of your worship! And you can do that regardless of your circumstances.
