I know that you have probably heard, “you are what you think.” If you have negative thoughts about yourself or someone else – it usually comes true. And if you have positive thoughts about yourself or someone else – that usually also comes true. Having a negative or positive mind is one thing, but having a spiritual mind is a different story…
for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. – 1 Corinthians 2:16
We have the mind of Christ? How can that be?
Paul is telling us in this scripture, that even though you are human – who have faults – you are still given the mind and thoughts of Christ. Once you have accepted Christ into your life, then your thoughts have been renewed and you are changed. You begin to think spiritual thoughts, because Jesus lives within you.
The key to having spiritual thoughts consists of:
- Thinking positively by seeking His will.
- Thinking about how blessed you are.
- Thinking about how good our God is.
And the list of all things good, can go on and on…. You have a perfect example of Jesus’ goodness from the life that He lived on earth. Even though He faced adversary after adversary, hatred after hatred, and ultimately death – He always remained humble. He never gave a discouraging word towards others. He stayed positive.
Even though you have the spiritual mind of Jesus, Satan can and will continue to try to discourage your thoughts. He will continue to pull out all the stops to keep you down and keep you negative. But now that you have been reminded that Jesus thoughts are your thoughts, shouldn’t be a reason for Satan to cause you to stumble.
Once you realize that your thoughts have become negative, should be a trigger that something is wrong and that your mind is not on Jesus. And these thoughts you don’t have to accept as truth, because they don’t belong to you!
A spiritual mind always lifts you up. A Satanic mind brings you down. A spiritual mind wants the best for you. A Satanic mind wants the worst. And a spiritual mind’s goal is to save you. Where as a Satanic mind’s goal is to steal, kill and destroy.
When Jesus descended back to Heaven, He left us some help – which is the Holy Spirit. This Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus. He knew we couldn’t make it on earth without it. So He made sure that we wouldn’t fail! I’m glad I serve a God, who wants the best for me and my mind. Just being in His presence represents hope. And I want to continue having a mind of hope, rather than a mind of hopelessness… don’t you?
Question: Are your thoughts positive or negative? How can they be more spiritual?
Be blessed,
Wanda
